SAM AND IRENE BLACK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Business, Liberal Arts, and Science Major (BLASC) Acting Program
Chair: Mr. Mark Bestoso Business, Liberal Arts, and Science stands out as a major unique to Penn State Erie. It's also unique to students who choose it, because they have the freedom to customize an academic program to their career interests. The major is ideal for students who want to combine the study of business with the liberal arts and who prefer breadth to a narrow focus on one specific area of study. Flexibility is achieved through the use of "modules," or 15-credit areas of specialization. Students in the major first acquire a solid foundation in the core areas of business (accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, and management information systems). Then they select three five- or six-class modules tailored to their career goals. One module must be in business; the other two must be in non-business disciplines such as communications, English, a foreign language, history, political science, international policy studies, international cultural studies, psychology, education abroad, or mathematics. One of the non-business modules must have an international dimension. |
