In the Classroom:
Business students at Penn State Erie learn to understand problems from a multi-disciplinary perspective, communicate effectively through writing and speaking, and develop strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Outstanding faculty combined with Penn State's excellent computer infrastructure results in students understanding the use of information technology in organizations and mastering business software. An emphasis is placed on comprehending the challenges posed by a demographically diverse workforce and becoming sensitive to ethical issues in business.

Faculty: There's a tradition of close working relationships and shared interests between students and faculty in the School of Business. You will get to know your professors well because class sizes are small. Nearly all faculty members have significant experience in the business world as well as academic credentials. Our faculty consult with cutting-edge businesses and travel the world to share their expertise. The school's innovative approach recently earned a University-wide award for teaching and learning.

Research Opportunities: The college is committed to making research a major component of the undergraduate experience. Opportunities include a research grant program, student research award, research and creative accomplishment conference, summer research fellowship program, and travel stipends to attend professional meetings. Penn State Erie invests more than $100,000 in undergraduate research each year.

Students collaborate with professors on cutting-edge projects that make a difference in the real world, working in outreach centers such as the Economic Research Institute of Erie and the Center for e-Commerce.

Facilities: The School of Business offices in REDC are located in the college's Historic Circle. The student learning environment is enhanced by technology classrooms and the active learning approaches used by the school's faculty. A special Management Information Science computer lab, with more than forty PCs, provides 24-7 access to of the latest in business aplication software. Students and faculty will benefit greatly when the School of Business relocates into the $30 million Research and Economic Development Center.

After Graduation: Our graduates are well-equipped for a business career or for further study at the graduate level. Students benefit from personal counseling provided by the Career Development Center, and each fall the center sponsors a Business Fair. A growing number of local, regional, national, and international companies participate in the fair each year, and many return to campus in the spring to recruit our graduates for jobs.
