FTCAP:
The First-Year Testing, Counseling, and
Advising Program
Congratulations on
making Penn State Erie, The Behrend College your college.
The First-Year Testing, Counseling and
Advising Program is a comprehensive program of testing, individualized educational
planning, and academic advising for new students. It
is the first step in attaining your academic goals.

Once you accept
an offer of admission, you will be asked to complete
the First Year Placement Test. This battery of tests will evaluate
your knowledge in the areas of English, mathematics, and
chemistry. Testing is available on-line. If you have not
received information on taking the placement testing contact FTCAP Operations at (814)
865-2578. If you are
experiencing technical difficulties contact the Technical Helpline
at (814) 865-8270.

Once tested, you will be invited to participate
in an academic advising program.
On this day you will
receive a copy of test scores, select your fall schedule of
classes and receive additional information you will need to begin
the fall semester.

If you are admitted as a
degree candidate for Summer 2005, information regarding summer
course registration will be mailed to you. Course registration
appointments for summer 2005 will begin June 1, 2005. To
schedule an appointment phone (814) 898-6260.

If you are admitted as a
degree candidate for Fall 2005, information regarding the FTCAP
program will be mailed the week of May 16, 2005.
