School Vision Statement
It is the Vision of the School of Engineering at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, that we will be defined by and known for:
- Our strong design-oriented baccalaureate level undergraduate engineering and engineering technology programs, characterized by close faculty/student interaction, preparing graduates for careers in the profession;
- Our proactive processes to create paths to graduate education;
- Our unique interactive business/engineering environment and culture;
- Our faculty's research and scholarship that contributes to the engineering and technology body of knowledge, supports our educational objectives, and serves the needs of industry;
- Our applied research centers, focused on the critical technical needs of our constituents that can be met by the collective strength of our faculty; and
- Our technical and educational outreach in support of our community.

As part of the Pennsylvania State University, a public land-grant institution, the School of Engineering at Penn State Behrend is dedicated to providing high quality educational programs in engineering and engineering technology; performing innovative research and scholarship; and performing responsible service and outreach activities that have broad national reach, but are especially relevant to the northwest Pennsylvania tri-state area.
