SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES Creative Writing Faculty Eugene Cross Eugene Cross received an MFA in fiction from The University of Pittsburgh where in 2006, he won the Turow-Kinder fiction award for the best story by a graduate student. He has also been awarded full work-study scholarships to the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2008 he was the faculty scholar from Penn State Behrend at The Chautauqua Writers' Festival. His work has appeared in such prestigious literary journals as Narrative, Callaloo, Third Coast, The Pinch, Hobart, and Guernica, among others. His stories have been finalists at competitions sponsored by Glimmer Train and The Bellingham Review. He was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. Click on a link to read a selection.
