The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor statistics predicts a 10 percent to 20 percent growth in job opportunities for attorneys through 2010.
Employment growth will be greatest in the
salaried legal positions most often found in business and
government. Specialists in healthcare, intellectual property,
international, elder, and environmental law also are expected to be
in demand.
The median salary for all attorneys in 2000 was $88,280. The middle earners were paid between $60,700 and $130,170.
