SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES Women's Studies Links GenderWatch: A full text database containing general interest and scholarly articles that focus on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum of subject areas Women's Resources International: This resource provides access to over 232,000 records drawn from ten important Women's Studies databases. Among the databases included in Women's Resources International are Women's Studies Abstracts, one of the premiere Women's Studies indexes; four files from Women Studies Librarian at the University of Wisconsin; Popline Subset on Women; and Women's Health and Development: An Annotated Bibliography of Mostly English Language Journal Articles from the World Health Organization. Coverage: 1972 to date; citations and abstracts only. Updated semiannually. Brown University Women Writers Project: The Brown University Women Writers Project is a long-term research project devoted to early modern women's writing and electronic text encoding. Our goal is to bring texts by pre-Victorian women writers (pre 1830 in England) out of the archive and make them accessible to a wide audience of teachers, students, scholars, and the general reader. We support research on women's writing, text encoding, and the role of electronic texts in teaching and scholarship. National Women's Studies Association (NWSA): The Women's Studies Program at Behrend is now a member of the National Women's Studies Association (NWSA) , a prestigious organization of Women's studies programs from around the country. The NWSA organizes an outstanding annual national conference featuring leading feminist scholars, a comprehensive book exhibit, writer series, etc. They also have several publications, such as Defining Women's Studies Scholarship and The NWSA Backlash Report, the NWSA Journal. They host special interest caucuses, task forces and interest groups and are the clearing house for many scholarships and awards. They are the only organization committed to the advancement of Women's Studies in the academy. |
