Assistant Professor of Anthropology

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor of anthropology, beginning January, 2009. We are particularly interested in candidates who have an active archaeological field project that will provide opportunities for student participation, as well as a record of external funding of research. The position requires excellence in teaching and scholarship, as well as involvement in college and departmental service. Course load is three classes per semester. Responsibilities include teaching survey courses covering all fields of anthropology including archaeology, as well as specialty courses as needed. Ph.D. in anthropology, a strong record of publications, and college teaching experience required.

Part-Time Lecturer in Speech Communication

Assistant/Associate Professor of English

The English program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College invites applications for a tenure-track position as either an assistant or associate professor in American multicultural literature, beginning August, 2008. Area of specialization should be in one or more of the following:  African-American literature, Latina/o or Chicana/o literature, Native American literature, Asian-American literature, Caribbean literature, or ethnic literature. The position requires excellence in teaching and scholarship, as well as involvement in college and departmental service. Course load is three classes per semester. Responsibilities include teaching surveys, specialty courses, and at least one composition course per year. Ph.D. and college teaching experience preferred.
