Students are invited to participate in astronomy research here at Penn State Behrend. Physics faculty presently engaged in astronomy research are

Roger F. Knacke, Ph.D., University of California at Berkeley, 1969. Planetary science, infrared astronomy, interstellar matter, star and planet formation.

Darren M. Williams, Ph.D., Penn State University, 1998. Origin and evolution of planets and satellites; planetary dynamics and climate.
Students can work with these faculty on
projects involving computer modeling of planetary systems, observing
with Behrend telescopes, astronomical imaging and data analysis, and
other interesting endeavors.
