We're excited to be back celebrating our 15th year this summer! Once again we have worked hard to put together a schedule that brings back many of your favorite classes as well as offering you new opportunities. To view the 2008 class schedule, please click on the appropriate age link to the left.

If you are on our mailing list, the College for Kids brochure will arrive in your mailbox prior to registration opening. If you are new to the Erie area, or the College for Kids experience, and would like to be added to our mailing list, please use the "contact" link to the left. We would be happy to mail our brochure direct to you.

This year many of your favorite classes are returning: Archery, Arts and Crafts, Beach Jewelry, Beginner Model Rocketry, Computer, Discovering Dinosaurs, Golf, House Detectives, Kids and Money, Kitchen Chemistry, Let's Cheer, Martial Arts, Op-Amp Camp, Outdoor Sports and Games, Star Wars and The Roman Empire, Show Me the Money, Stained Glass Mosaics, Storm Chasing, and When the Whole World Was at War,

New this summer you can also choose from these great classes: Animal Tracks, Bird Watching and Identification, Camp Green Thumb, Dance to the Music, Introduction to Computer Literacy, The Mighty Ant, Reptiles Rule, Photoshop Fun, Travel with Technology, and World Drumming Music.

Additionally, I would like to bring your attention to these new classes as they will help your child improve basic skills in a fun environment: a variety of Math classes, Internet Encyclopedia: Research in the 21st Century, Journaling for Enjoyment, Food Fun and Fitness, 3R Extreme Challenge, and First Impressions-Career Development.

College for Kids will also offer two all-day classes this year: Due to the nature of these classes they will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please see the class description for additional details.

Mural Painting: A Community Art Project: Students 12 years and older will study under a local artist as they learn design skills in the art of mural painting. This year we will be painting the lobby of the Penn State Behrend Early Learning Center.

Summer Sailing at the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies: Students 10 years and older will learn to sail one of the BCMS's yachts on beautiful Presque Isle Bay! As transportation from Penn State Behrend is not provided, parents are asked to drop-off and pick-up their children at the Bayront Maritime Center located at 40 Holland Street, Erie. A Penn State Behrend staff member will be on location.

We also offer many additional classes in fine arts and crafts, creative writing, engineering, geography, culture and history, science and nature, math, and sports and fitness.

We hope you will enjoy these diverse selections and that your child has a fun and wonderful summer experience!

We're looking forward to another fun-filled summer - hope you are too!
