Baseball Team Plays Home Opener Against Hilbert

The Penn State Behrend baseball team has been off since March 19 when they posted a 12-0 win over the Hilbert Hawks. The Behrend Lions are back in action on Saturday, March 30, with an AMCC doubleheader in Frostburg where they will play at the Harry Grove Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Harry Grove is home of the Frederick Keys, a Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.

"This is a great way to get back on the field," said head coach Paul Benim.  "This will be a privilege to play at Harry Grove Stadium and we have a history of good baseball battles with Frostburg.

Leading the Behrend Lions is Jake Boyle, a senior outfielder, who hits .421 with 13 RBI's, 12 runs, and 2 homeruns on the season. Also Luke Bundy, a senior catcher, hits .458 with 4 RBI's, 5 runs, and 2 doubles.  On the mound is Ryan Seyler, a junior pitcher, who is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA, along with T.J. Aldrich, a junior pitcher, who is 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA.

Frostburg in 2-0 in league play with a home sweep of La Roche by scores of 9-8 and 7-5.   Last season, Frostburg finished as AMCC runners-up and made the ECAC playoffs.
