The Penn State Behrend baseball Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2006. The event is a cornerstone in the Alumni, Families and Friends weekend.
"This continues to be a very special day on our baseball calendar," said head coach Paul Benim. "We are very happy to welcome several members of the Behrend baseball family to the golf tournament." Last year over 80 golfers played in the tournament and another 50 attended the picnic afterwards. "Our goals are to make the tournament an even better event and continue to attract more or our alumni back. In addition to our annual spring alumni game the golf tournament gets us a chance to get together in the fall and to continue to enjoy the relationships with former players."
The four-player 18-hole golf scramble begins at noon with a shotgun start at Gospel Hill Golf Course one mile from campus. The event includes several competitions and great prizes.
On Saturday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m., Behrend will play Gannon University in an all-day fall baseball scrimmage on the Behrend diamond. Gannon is coached by Behrend graduate and a former teammate of coach Benim's, Rick Iacobucci.
