Freshman Josh Fyffe Nabs His Second AMCC Player of the Week Honor

Behrend baseball shortstop Josh Fyffe (Fredonia/Sharpsville) earned his second AMCC Player of the Week award for the week of April 30.  Fyffe helped lead the Behrend Lions to a 7-1 week (4-0 in AMCC competition) and strengthened their position near the top of the conference standings, guaranteeing the blue and white a first-round home match-up.

Fyffe stepped up with a 13 for 29 (.448) effort at the plate, recording 8 RBI and scoring 8 runs. He had 5 extra base hits including two home runs and went 2 for 2 in stolen base attempts. Fyffe currently ranks second in the AMCC in batting average at .415 and first in hits (54).  Fyffe's first Player of the Week honor came just two weeks ago on April 16.  Behrend swept the awards this week, with teammate David Koerbel (Pittsburgh/Central Catholic taking the Pitcher of the Week.

Behrend baseball will
close out the regular season this week with two home games.  They face Allegheny on Tuesday, May 1 in a single game at 5:00 p.m. and then host a doubleheader on May 3 at 1:00 p.m. against Bethany.
