Men's and Women's Cross Country Head to Lake Erie College for AMCC Championships
The AMCC field will include Frostburg State University, Hilbert College, La Roche College, Lake Erie College, Medaille College, Mount Aloysius College, Penn State Altoona, Penn State Behrend, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Last season's second place finish for the men was led by Brad Ruffo (West Middlesex/ West Middlesex) who beat out all 59 runners to win the race with a time of 26:55. The women's team, who also finished second, was led by Jenny Bailey (Corry/ Corry). Bailey finished second with a time of 24:20. For the men, senior team captain Brad Ruffo has led the way again this season finishing second at the Westminster Invitational with a time of 27:21, eighth with a time of 27:25 at the Behrend Invitational, and seventeenth at the Dickinson Invitational with a time of 27:18. Jenny Bailey has been the catalyst for the women's team with a fourth place finish at the Westminster Invitational with a time of 19:55, eighth at the Behrend Invitational with a time of 20:01, and fourth at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational with a time of 19:55. Both the men's and women's teams have peaked at fourth place thus far. The men secured a fourth place finish at the Westminster Invitational and then again at the Behrend Invitational. The women came in fourth at the Behrend Invitational as well, and then locked up another fourth place spot last week at Roberts Weslyan. The AMCC Championships concludes the conference season, but top Behrend runners have a shot at the Mideast Regionals held on November 11 at Waynesburg.
