Cross Country Concludes Season at Regionals

On Saturday, November 10, the Penn State Behrend men's and women's cross country teams headed to Lehigh, PA, for the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals at Muhlenberg College. The men's cross country placed 18th in a field of 31 teams with 542 points. The women's cross country team finished 16th out of 34 teams with 532. 

Kevin Ritzert (Ellwood City/Lincoln) was the top finisher for the men's team with a time of 27:53 and Mike Bartlett (Erie/Iroquois) finished 99th in 28:16 to finish in the top one hundred.  Matt Sprung (Latrobe/Latrobe) had the third best time for the men, finishing in 117th with a time of 28:47.  Dan Croft (West Newton/Greensburg Central) finished in 123rd with a time of 28:50 and Clayton Kirschner (Hilliards/Moniteau) rounds out the top five finishers for Behrend placing 128th with a time of 28:57.

Jessica Knapp (Erie/McDowell) was the top finisher for the women, in 82nd place with a time of 20:30.  Lyndsey Boor (Columbia Cross Roads/Troy) had the second best time for the women, finishing in 85th with a time of 20:33. Andrea Sanko (Butler/Butler) finished in 102nd place with a time of 20:48.  Claire Manelick (Youngsville/Youngsville) had the fourth best time for the women, finishing in 116th in 21:04.  Suzie Szafran (Bradford/Bradford) finished at 147th with a time of 21:40.
