Behrend Men Win Penn State Behrend Golf
Invitational
The
Behrend men's golf
team captured the team championship in the Penn State Behrend Invitational
held on April 13 at the Peek'n Peak Lower Course. Behrend was first in
the men's division with a score of 305 followed in second place by
Pitt-Bradford with 318, and Daemen in third place with 326.
Behrend sophmore
Dave Kostanich (Jefferson Hills/Thomas Jefferson), the 2005 AMCC Golfer of
the Year, was the men's individual champion as he shot a 71. The men's
individual runner-up also came from Behrend, as sophomore Josh Hull
(Cranberry Township/Seneca Valley) shot a 73.
On the women's side Gannon captured the team championship with a team total
of 346, and also had the women's individual champion. Gannon freshman
Jessica Slonaker had the women's low score of 78 as she led the Lady Knights
to the women's team championship.
Medaille, Gannon, and a second team from Penn State Behrend also competed on
the men's side, while other women's competitors were from Penn State Behrend
and Mercyhurst.
The Behrend Lions golfers are back in action on Monday, April 17 when they
will compete at the Grove City Invitational.
