J. J. Ferguson Tabbed AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Senior sixth-man J.J. Ferguson (Summerville/Clarion-Limestone) was named this week's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Week.

Ferguson led the Behrend Lions to a 1-1 mark at the Cal-Tech Tournament on Sunday, December 18 and Monday, December 19. Ferguson came off the bench with a pair of solid games and was named to the All-Tournament team along with teammate Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria).

Behrend will open up against Puget Sound (5-1) and lost 98-83, but bounced back with a good 59-55 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering (6-4) to move the team's mark to 6-2 entering the holiday break.

In game one of the tournament, Ferguson contributed 10 points, four board, a pair of assists and a steal. In game two he stepped up with 15 points, including 3 x 5 from three-point land, in the four-point win.

Behrend returns home on January 3 where they will host Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. in the Junker Center.
