Men's Basketball Runs Past Allegheny 78-64 in the Junker Center
Penn State Behrend opened 2006 with a sharp fourteen point home victory over the Allegheny Gators to improve to 7-2 on the season. Behrend shot 56% from the floor and connected on seven-of-sixteen from three-point territory in the win. The blue and white were led by Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) who led all scorers with 23 points on 7 x 15 from the field and 9-of-11 at the charity-stripe. Senior J.J. Ferguson (Summerville/ Clarion Limestone) continued his excellent play off the bench and added 19 points and five rebounds. Freshman Tom Newman (Girard/Northwestern) put together his best game and contributed 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Allegheny falls to 5-5 and were led by Ryan Hollihan and Casey McCloskey's 13 points. Behrend continues its home stretch with a pair of key AMCC games on Friday, January 6, when they host Penn State Atloona (3-4) at 8:00 p.m. followed by Saturday's game versus Mt. Aloysius (5-2) at 6:00 p.m.
