Behrend Men's Basketball Edges Mount Aloysius
Leading the way for Behrend was senior J.J. Ferguson (Summerville/Clarion-Limestone), who came off the bench to score a career-high 31 points, along with four rebounds and two assists. Also having big games for the blue and white were sophomore David Gahan (Erie/East) and sophomore Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria). Gahan netted 25 points and grabbed eight boards, while Buczynski added 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. Behrend led 80-68 with just two minutes remaining, but a number of clutch three-pointers Sam Hanik and Roman Mims cut the lead to 91-88 with 12 seconds left. Free throws down the stretch by J.J. Ferguson and Justin Jennings finally iced the game for Behrend and the blue and white were able to close the game out 93-88. Bright spots for Mount Aloysius included Sam Hanik who had 26 points, Roman Mims who added 24 points and six rebounds, and Justin Ohler who contributed 12 points. The Behrend men do not see action again until Saturday, January 14 at 8:00 p.m. when they play host to conference rival Pitt-Bradford in the Junker Center.
