Behrend Men's Basketball Ranked Nationally in Statistical Categories
The blue and white have shot an outstanding 52.5% from the field this year ranking them sixth in the country. The team has also been terrific from beyond the arc shooting 41.6% and ranking seventeenth nationally. Although the offensive production has been solid, Behrend has been dominant on the boards as well. The team has out rebounded its opponents by an average of 8.7 rebounds a game, the sixteenth best rebounding margin in the country. J.J. Ferguson (Summerville/Clarion-Limestone) has been the offensive leader for the blue and white ranking nationally in shooting. The senior has been exceptional from three-point range connecting on 53.7% from behind the arc and is currently ranked third in the country. Ferguson has also been automatic from the stripe shooting 89.6% which is sixteenth best in the country. Behrend will host Hilbert College Tuesday, January 24, to kick off a four game home stand. This weekend additional league games will be played on Friday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m. against Frostburg State (6-9, 3-5), followed by Saturday's game against Pitt-Greensburg (7-8, 5-3) at 6:00 p.m. Then on Tuesday, January 31, the Medaille Mavericks (3-12, 2-6) travel to the Junker for a 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
