Behrend Lions Devour Frostburg Bobcats 66-55

The Penn State Behrend men’s basketball team stayed undefeated at home and improved to 14-3 on the season and 8-2 in the AMCC with a 66-55 victory over Frostburg State on Friday night.  The game was in doubt early, as Frostburg shot 48% from the floor to take a five point lead into halftime at 29-24.  However, the Behrend Lions came roaring back in the second half, scoring 42 points including 15 second half free throws to capture the lead and pull away after the break.

Sophomore Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) led all scorers with 21 points including nine of ten free throws.  Senior JJ Ferguson (Summerville/Clarion-Limestone) fired in 15 points and added five rebounds in the win.  Sophomore David Gahan (Erie/East) also finished with a nice game, adding 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

Frostburg was led by Marcus McIntyre’s double-double as he scored 17 points and grabbed ten rebounds.  McIntyre was the only Bobcat in double figures, as Frostburg falls to 7-10 on the season and 4-6 in the AMCC.

The blue and white have won nine of their last ten games and aim to stay undefeated at home tomorrow when they face Pitt-Greensburg (7-8, 5-3) at 6:00 p.m. Behrend suffered one of its three losses this season at Pitt-Greensburg on December 2.  Then on Tuesday, January 31, the Medaille Mavericks (3-12, 2-6) travel to the Junker for a 8:00 p.m. AMCC tip-off.
