Behrend's Danielle Bemis Leads 2002-03 AMCC All-Academic Team

Penn State Behrend senior volleyball and basketball player Danielle Bemis (Corry /Corry) was the female recipients of the 2002-03 Faculty Athletics Representatives Award in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.  She was chosen from among a total of 7 nominees who comprise the conference's All-Academic Team.

Bemis, a psychology major with a minor in business, holds a 3.86 GPA and was a four-year member of the Dean's List.  She was the recipient of numerous scholarships for academic achievement and leadership, including the Penn State Behrend Faculty Senate Scholarship this past year.  Chosen as the school's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, she was a first team all-AMCC selection in volleyball along with team captain and MVP.  Bemis was also a starting member of the Behrend Lions basketball team, averaging 7.0 ppg and shooting 45% from the field this past season at guard.

Ryan Seyler (Franklin/Franklin) was the men's nominee after being selected as the male scholar athlete of the year.  Seyler, a Verizon Academic All-American, has posted a 3.71 cumulative GPA in plastics engineering and posted a 8-3 mark on the pitching mound for the Behrend Lions baseball team who won the AMCC title and the ECAC championship in 2003.
