Penn State Behrend
Leads in Chase for Presidents Cup
After the conclusion of the winter sports season, the Penn State Behrend Lions lead the AMCC in the Presidents Cup standings. Behrend won three out of four championships during the winter season, adding to the four championships claimed in the fall. The Behrend Lions now have 77.5 points to lead the race. Trailing by 10.5 points, Penn State Altoona holds the second place spot with 67 points. Most recently, the men's basketball team won the regular season title and went on to defeat Lake Erie college to claim the tournament championship. The Behrend Lions also took both the men's and women's swimming & diving titles this winter. Team championships for Behrend in the fall included both the men's and women's soccer squads and the men's and women's cross country teams. Other contenders pursuing the Presidents cup behind Altoona include Frostburg State (56), Medaille College (53), Lake Erie College (51.5), and Pitt-Greensburg (45.5). La Roche, Pitt-Bradford, Hilbert, and Mt. Aloysius round out the bottom four. Last year Penn State Behrend won the Presidents Cup with 98 points.
