Behrend's Nikki Kaschauer Named ECAC Division III Southern Softball
Player of the Year

State Behrend sophomore Nikki Kaschauer (South Park/South Park) has
been named the ECAC Division III Southern Softball Player of the
Year. The second baseman received the honor when the ECAC
All-Star teams for spring sports were announced on July 25.
This spring Kaschauer was a force at the plate for the blue and
white. She led the team in batting average (.438), hits (63),
RBIs (39), total bases (88), and doubles (11). She also had a
slugging percentage of .611 and scored 35 runs.
For her outstanding season, Kaschauer was also selected as AMCC
Softball Player of the Year. In addition, she was named the
ECAC Softball Player of the Week on April 30. This spring the
Behrend Lions finished with a record of 29-16 and advanced to the
ECAC Championship Game.
