Corbin Named to Academic All-District II College Division Softball Team Senior Beck Corbin (North East/North East) was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District II Softball College Division Team. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a least a sophomore with a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. "This is an outstanding and well-deserved honor for Becky," said Behrend's first-year head coach Stacy Pondo. "She earned this with her tremendous work ethic and dedication to academics and softball." Early this year Corbin was named a co-recipient of Behrend's John Zahniser Female Scholar Athlete Award. The award is given to those student athletes who have the best combined academic and athletic achievements. Corbin holds a 3.92 GPA and helped lead her team to fifth place in the AMCC while batting .500 in AMCC play. For her efforts, she was named to the league's all-conference second-team. She finished the year batting .326 and led the team in wins (4), ERA (3.72), appearances (16), starts (13), inning pitched (77.1), and strike-outs (34). In addition, Corbin was named to the academic all-conference team for the fourth consecutive season, and also a member of the AMCC Academic All-Conference team.
