Three Behrend Swimmers Named AMCC Performers of the Week

Penn State Behrend Swimming continued its dominance in the AMCC Swimming Championships by capturing their third straight title in the last three years.  In the process, Krystal Kovach (Scott Township/Chartiers Valley), Dane Dombrosky (Mt. Pleasant/Mt. Pleasant) and Steve Graves (McMurray/Peter's Township) all took home AMCC performers of the week honors.

Kovach was a standout at the AMCC's placing first in both the one and three meter diving championships.  Her scores of 422.8 and 405.35 in the three and one meter dive respectively, are consideration scores for the NCAA Championships which will take place March 12-14.  This marks the sixth time Kovach has taken home the AMCC women's diver of the week title.

Dombrosky would show up big for the blue and white in the AMCC Championships.  He would come away with two individual titles in both the 500 free and the 100 fly.  With some help from his teammates, Dombrosky would walk away with four AMCC relay titles in the 200, 400, and 800 free relays and the 400 medley relay. He would also grab team records in the both the 100 free (49.52) and 800 free (7:20.88) relays.  These relays as well as the 100 fly relay has qualified Dombrosky for the ECAC championships.  Graves, a previous six time diver of the week, took home his seventh honor after his performance at the AMCC championships last week.  Graves successfully defended his AMCC title in the one meter diving with a score of 332.25 and placed fifth overall at the Grove City Invitational.

The blue and white will be back in the pool when they travel to the ECAC championships held in Boston, Massachusetts on February 28-March 1.  The NCAA tournament will be held on March 12-14 for the women and March 19-20 for the men.
