Swimmers Prepare for Second Half of Season

The Penn State Behrend men and women's swimming and diving team are getting ready for the second half of the season with a home meet against Alfred University on Saturday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. in the Junker Center.

"The team was very excited to head into the new year" said head coach Josh Heynes.  "They have worked hard over the holiday break and this first meet will test the waters for the Behrend Lions."

Leading the men's team is Casey Doody (Scarborough, ME/Cape Elizabeth) in the backstroke events, Lucas Dushac (Indiana/Indiana) for the stroke events, and Ben Atkins (Pleasantville/Titusville) for the distance freestyle events.  The women's team includes Christine Williams (Seltzer/Pottsville) in the stroke events and Samantha Cibula (Bradford/Bradford) in the freestyle events.

The men and women's swimming team will continue their season on January 18, at Mount Union for a tri-meet against Grove City and Mount Union at 6:00 p.m. and then travel to Edinboro on Saturday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m.
