Sophomore swimmer Missy Pilewski (Villa Maria Academy/Cranesville) placed twelfth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Swimming and Diving Championships held in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 25.  Pilewski swam the women's 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.62.  Despite competing against mostly division I athletes, Pilewski managed to make the final round of just sixteen athletes after finishing with a time of 1:09.30 in the preliminary round.  This was her first ever post season event, and Pilewski marks only the second female swimmer in Behrend Lions history to ever to swim at the event. 

Pilewski’s Grove City time set her as number 18 of 23 among the 100 yard breaststroke competitors in the ECAC Championships.  Pilewski earned the second place distinction in the 100 yard breaststroke at the Grove City Invitational on February 9-11.  She broke her career best and the Behrend 100 yard breaststroke record swimming a 1:09.21.
