Behrend Squares Off Against Tough Edinboro Squad in Junker Pool

The Penn State Behrend swimming and diving team was back in the Junker Pool on Saturday, January 13 for the first time since November 3.  The men were defeated 114-77, while the women fell 106-94.  Both teams dropped to 4-3 on the season. 

Both the men's and women's team entered the contest at 4-2 and were competing in their second meet in as many nights.  The women came in off a 110-103 victory over Mt. Union on Friday, January 12, while the men fell 98-103 to the Purple Raiders.  Sara Breese (West Springfield/Northwestern) broke her own 50-yard freestyle record with a time 26.14 in the win.

The versatile Dustin Fairchild (Corry/Corry) starred for the men against Edinboro.  Fairchild won both the men's 500 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke with times of 5:05.38 and 1:02.65 respectively.  Winning on the women's side was Colby Seibert (Milton/Milton), who took the100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.30.
  
The men and women remain at home for their next meet on January 20.  The contest will feature three AMCC teams in Behrend, Penn State Altoona, and Frostburg State and is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
