Behrend's Pilewski Named AMCC Women's Swimmer of the Week

The Penn State Behrend's Missy Pilewski (Cranesville/Villa Maria) has been named AMCC Women's Swimmer of the Week on January 15.  Pilewski won both the 200 breaststroke (vs. Mount Union) and the 100 breaststroke (vs. Edinboro) this weekend.

She won the 200 with a time of 2:42.82, more than 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor, clinching the victory for the Behrend Lions.  On Saturday Pilewski then won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:12.38, good enough for tenth place on the Behrend top ten all-time performances.  She was also in two second place relay teams, helping the 200 medley relay team turn in a performance which ranks fifth on the top ten performance list.

The Behrend women are 4-3 overall and sit in second place in the AMCC.  The men and women remain at home for their next meet on January 20.  The contest will feature three AMCC teams in Behrend, Penn State Altoona, and Frostburg State and is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
