Behrend Swimming and Diving Earns Three AMCC Athletes of the Week

Penn State Behrend swimming and diving had three of its members earn AMCC recognition this past week.  Danielle Wilson (Pittsburgh/Plum) was the AMCC women's Swimmer of the Week.  Michelle Quail (Cranberry/Seneca Valley) got AMCC women's Diver of the Week, and AJ Kondash (State College/State College) was named the AMCC men's Diver of the Week.

Wilson was a key contributor in the Behrend Lions' victory over Penn State Altoona and Frostburg State in this past weeks' AMCC tri-meet.  Wilson had a season best performance in the 500 meter freestyle with a first place finish and a tijme of 5:47.36.  She also placed second in the 1000 meter freestyle with a time of 12:00.99 and contributed to the winning 400 meter freestyle relay team who finished in 4:00.44.

Quail gave the Behrend women nine points for her first-place efforts on the boards last week.  She rung up a total of 132.90 points in six dives off the one-meter.  AJ Kondash also chipped in nine points in the AMCC meet with a top-ten all-time Behrend performance of 200.25 points off the one-meter.  Kondash is also Behrend only competitor who competes on both the one-meter and three-meter boards.

Swimming and diving is on the road for the remainder of the season.  Look for them in action on January 26 when they travel to Grove City.
