Behrend Lions Swimming and Diving Dropped by Gannon 186-245

The Behrend Lions swimming and diving team were defeated by the Gannon Golden Knights on Friday, November 16 at the Junker Center Pool.  The women were downed by the Knights 86-121, while the men lost 100-124.  Both teams had outstanding swimming and diving on their side, but it was Gannon who would walk away with the win.

Contributing a large amount of points for the men with a few second place finishes was senior swimmer Dustin Fairchild (Corry/Corry).  Fairchild finished (finishes in events).  Diver Steve Graves (McMurray/Peters Township) attempted many difficult dives, coming away with first in the one-meter event.

For the women, divers Jen Juncosa (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Kayla Kovach (Pittsburgh/Chartiers Valley) made some outstanding dives and contributed a substantial amount of points for the women.  Swimmer Sara Breese (West Springfield/Northwestern) also had a number a second and third place finishes to help the women out.

Tomorrow the blue and white will travel to Pitt-Bradford for a tri-meet with Nazareth College.  The events are set to kick off at 1:00 p.m.  The teams will get ample time to rest before hitting the pool again on November 30, when they travel to Fredonia State to for the Blue Devil's Invitational.
