Penn State Behrend's Allen Named AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Week

The Penn State Behrend's Pat Allen (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) was named AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Week for December 3.    Allen came away with three third place individual finishes to help lead the Behrend Lions to a first place finish at the six-team Fredonia Invitational (100 free, 100 fly, 50 free). 

His performance in the 100 free (48.64) set a new team record.  The senior also teamed up with Anthony Spoto (Birmingham, MI/Birmingham-Seaholm), Chris Graves (McMurray/Peters Township), and Jason Hall (Lower Burrell/Burrell) to win the both the 200 free relay with a team and pool record time of 1:29.49, and the 400 free relay with a team record time of 3:17.25.

This is the first swimmer of the week honor for Allen this season, and the third consecutive week a Behrend Lion been named men's swimmer of the week.  Behrend swimming is off until after the holiday break, when the blue and white will return to the Junker Pool to host Mt. Union in a 6:00 p.m. meet on January 11.
