Behrend Women's Tennis Earns ITA Rankings

The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team is ranked nineteenth in the Atlantic South Region.

Also Behrend freshmen standouts Allison Mudrey and sophomore Mindy Calvert are ranked twenty-second in doubles.  Mudrey was named the team's MVP this past fall while Calvert was named the team MVP in her first season in 2003 after posting a 9-1 record.

Mudrey was also ranked fortieth in singles play.  She had been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tennis MVP and teamed up with Calvert to claim second-team all-conference at first-doubles.

Penn State Behrend took all but two spots on the first team all-conference roster this week along with tabbing Newcomer of the Year, Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Head coach Jeff Barger led his squad back to the top of the conference coming back from a four year drought after winning the first four conference titles.  This season marks the third time in school history the women's tennis team has gone undefeated in the AMCC.
