ITA Honors Behrend's Allison Mudrey for Outstanding Freshman Season The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is recognizing Penn State Behrend's Allison Mudrey (Hermitage/Hickory). The ITA releases previous season's honors prior to the start of the fall seasons. This honor highlights student-athletes that achieve above a 3.5 grade-point average and also excel on the courts. Mudrey was spectacular as a freshman for the blue and white. She was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and the Behrend Lions team MVP after leading Behrend to the 2004 AMCC championship. "Allison had an outstanding freshman season," said head coach Jeff Barger. "We are excited about her anchoring our team at the number-one singles position for the next couple of years." The tennis squad opens fall competition September 7 at Thiel. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start. Then on Saturday, September 10, the blue and white will host five teams in the annual Behrend Invitational on the Behrend Courts. |
