Behrend Splits Matches in Weekend Tennis Action

The Behrend Lions men's tennis team (2-12) fell by a score of 5-4 on Friday, March 31 but rebounded on Saturday, April 1 with a 7-2 victory over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opponent Frostburg State.  The win improved Behrend's record to 2-1 in the AMCC.

Against Frostburg, Behrend got singles victories from Miles Boyea (St. Vincent, WI/Upper Canada), Jim Palmer (Sharon/Sharon), Todd Guarnieri (New Castle/Neshannock), Trevor Dougherty (Meadville/Meadville), and Steve Rohm (Cranberry/Seneca Valley).  In doubles play the tandem of Boyea and Guarnieri picked up a win as did the team of Garrett Grenek (Butler/Butler) and Brian Kaleta (Harborcreek/Harborcreek).

Men's tennis is on the road for their matches the rest of the spring season.  Next up is a trip to Slippery Rock on April 5 for a match at 4:00 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. match at Pitt-Greensburg on April 7.
