Calvert Named AMCC Tennis Player of the Week
Behrend women's tennis
player Mindy Calvert (Warren/Warren) was named Allegheny Mountain
Collegiate Conference tennis player of the week on September 18.
The senior helped the Behrend Lions remain undefeated on the season
after defeating Chatham, Waynesburg, and Bethany over the weekend.
Calvert was victorious in all seven of her matches, going 3-0 at #2
singles and teaming with junior Allison Mudrey (Hermitage/Hickory)
to go 4-0 at #1 doubles. Calvert's stellar play helped Behrend
dominate on the courts as the blue and white dismissed Chatham 9-0,
Waynesburg 7-2, and Bethany 6-3. With the wins, Behrend
improved to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
Behrend women's tennis is next in action on Tuesday, September 19
when Fredonia State travels to Behrend to face the blue and white in
a match at 3:30 p.m.
