Behrend Tennis Win Three Straight Over Weekend

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team won three consecutive matches over the past weekend.  The streak began by defeating Alfred University 6-3 on Friday, March 28.  The blue and white went on to play Frostburg State the following day and easily defeated the Bobcats 7-2.  The men ended the weekend with a sweet 7-2 win over the Penn State Altoona Lions. 

In their first competition, the blue and white gave the Alfred Saxons their first loss of the season.  The men were strong in both singles and doubles play, giving up only two singles and one doubles match.  The Behrend Lions kept their momentum going on to defeat the Frostburg Bobcats on Saturday, March 29.  The squad closed out the weekend of play with a stellar victory over Penn Stata Altoona.  The men improve their record to 7-6 overall and remain undefeated with a 3-0 mark in the AMCC.

The Behrend Lions will host Juniata College on Thursday, April 3.  Matches are set to begin at 4:00 p.m.  Beginning April 4 the men will round out AMCC play with three consecutive conference game on the road.  They will start the run with play against Pitt-Greensburg, followed by Frostburg State and Penn Stat Altoona to end the three days of play.  The AMCC conference tournament is set for Sunday, April 13 at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, PA.
