Men's Tennis Player Nasirili Named AMCC Player of the Week

Behrend Lions freshman Erkin Nasirli (Baku, Russia/Baku Oxford HS) was recognized as the AMCC men’s tennis player of the week for the week of March 31.

Nasirli, the rookie, had a beyond impressive week as he went undefeated in all eight of the matches that he competed in. Nasirli finished the week 2-0 in #3 singles, 2-0 in #6 Singles, while adding a 4-0 win in #3 doubles. His performance along with the rest of the Lions put the squad on top of the AMCC conference.  The blue and white move to an undefeated 3-0 in conference play as well as improve to 7-6 overall. The men’s team will continue to work toward their goal of capturing the AMCC championship.

The Lions men’s tennis team will be back in action again this Friday, April 3, as they head to Pitt-Greensburg in hopes of continuing their winning streak and remaining undefeated in conference play.  The men will close out conference play as they travel to Frostburg State and Penn State Altoona on April 6 and 7.  The AMCC tournament will take place at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, PA, on April 13 at 9:00 a.m.
