Men's Tennis Places Second in AMCC Tournament

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team placed second in the AMCC Tournament this past weekend at Frostburg State.   The Behrend Lions finished behind conference champions Penn State Altoona.  Frostburg State placed third, Pitt-Greensburg fourth, and Lake Erie finished in fifth.

"The men's tennis team has made great progress over the year," said head coach Jeff Barger. "I was happy with everyone's effort and support for each other.  Overall it was the best season of men's tennis."

Freshman Michael Oey (BellMead, NJ/Montgomery) won the conference title for #2 singles, with senior Brent Carlson (Warren/Warren) winning the conference title for #3 singles.  Oey and Carlson were named to the all-conference first-team.  Junior Sheel Galliara (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) placed second in #6 singles and was named to the second-team all-conference.  Freshman Jacob Hillmann (Cowaneque/Cowaneque) and Oey were named to the second team all-conference in #2 doubles for finishing second over Altoona.
