Track & Field Wraps Up Regular Season,
Prepares for ECACs Virginia Rodgers-Owens (Washington, DC/P.L. Dunbar) and Dana Turley (Sarver/Freeport) both qualified for the ECACs on the women's side. Rodgers-Owens sprinted the 100 meter dash in 12.92 seconds, placing fourth. Turley won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.39. For the men, Mike Ferraro (Erie/Harborcreek) and Doug Stevenson (Sharpsville/Sharpsville) came in at first and second respectively in the 100 meter dash. Ferraro winning time was 11.37 seconds. Kevin Gorny (Erie/McDowell) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:11.78, a full minute better than the closest competitor. The men's 4 x 100 meter relay squad rounded out the ECAC qualfiers with a time of 43 seconds. Next up for track & field will be the ECAC championships on May 17-18 at Oneonta State University in Oneonta, NY.
