Bemis Digs Out Another Record in Final Match

Danielle Bemis, senior from Corry, Pa. (Corry High School), set Behrend's career-digs record in the final match of her career.  Bemis and her teammates squared off against Penn State Altoona in the first round of the AMCC Tournament, where Bemis earned dig 1,676.  Earlier in the season Bemis also set the career-kills mark, which she raised to 1,125 by season's end.  Mary Good previously held the career-kills mark of 1,028 and the career-digs mark of 1,666.

Co-captain of this season's volleyball squad, Bemis was named to the AMCC All-Conference First-Team in her junior and senior years.  Last season she received the 2002-03 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Faculty Athletics Representatives Award and was chosen as Behrend's 2002-2003 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

"Danielle Bemis has been a major force on this team for the last three seasons, she's definitely one of the best players I've ever coached," said head volleyball coach Kelly Diehl.  "She has worked hard at every practice and through some difficult injuries. Danielle's accomplishments are very deserving."
