Voltz Selected AMCC Volleyball Player of the Week (10/24/05)

Penn State Behrend’s Elaine Voltz (Saxonburg/Knoch) has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) volleyball player of the week.  Voltz led the Behrend Lions in two wins, including a 3-0 victory over defending conference champion Frostburg, to keep the blue and white undefeated in AMCC play. 

For the week, the junior middle hitter totaled 42 kills with a .407 hitting percentage and added eight blocks in wins over Frostburg and Catholic.  Voltz is currently leading the AMCC in hitting percentage (.364) and kills per game (4.15).  She has 990 kills for her career which is good for fourth all-time at Behrend.    

The Behrend Lions are now 22-7 overall and in first place with a 7-0 record in the AMCC.  Behrend volleyball is next in action at home on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. when they host AMCC opponent Medaille College.
