Adams Earns AMCC Player of the Week Honors

Freshman Trisha Adams (Fairview/Fairview) earned AMCC honors for her incredible offensive showing in Behrend's last two volleyball matches.  Her efforts contributed to a pair of wins in conference play for the Behrend Lions, who defeated Lake Erie in three straight games last Thursday and on Saturday battled against Pitt-Greensburg for the victory after five games.

"Trisha has made a huge contribution to this year's team.  She currently leads in kills and hitting percentage.  This past week in our two conference wins, she dominated both teams with her hitting.  She adjusts well to different sets and does a great job of moving the ball around the opponent's court," says head coach Kellie Diehl about her player.

From her outside hitter position, Adams tallied 37 kills (4.6 kpg) and 26 digs (3.25 dpg), boasting a .342 hitting percentage in the last eight games.  On the season she has recorded 232 digs, in addition to leading the team in kills with 236 and a .259 hitting percentage.

These two wins give the Behrend team a 12-13 overall record and a 5-3 record in the AMCC conference.  After dropping two matches this week to Fredonia and Buffalo State, the Behrend Lions face two conference matches this weekend.  On Friday they battle Altoona at 6:00 p.m. before taking on Frostburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
