Washington and Jefferson Prove to be too Much for Blue and White

Behrend men's water polo hosted their second match in as many nights Saturday, September 30, when they welcomed the Washington and Jefferson Presidents into the Junker Pool.    W & J overpowered Behrend in a   22-10 defeat.  Behrend was dropped Friday night 17-7 at the hands of a strong Gannon team.  The loss puts the men at 0-9 on the season.

Having big games for the men was Ian Johnson (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) who led all Behrend scorers with three, and Anthony Spoto (Birmingham, MI/Seaholm) and Andre Pranckevicius (Miami, FL/Miami Beach) who each had two.

After a slow first half in which the blue and white were outscored 11-4, the men came out with intensity in the third putting in four of their ten goals and outscoring W & J 4-3.  The presidents would pour it on in the fourth however, finding net for a total of eight fourth quarter goals and putting the game out of reach at 22-10.

The men have a break from action until October 4, when they travel to Mercyhurst to meet the Lakers in a 7:00 p.m. match.  The match marks the first of a four-game road trip for the team.
