Women's Water Polo Hosts Their First Tournament
The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team is hosting their first-ever tournament in the Junker Center Pool on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16. Teams include Gannon, Mercyhurst, University Park, IUP, and Eastern Michigan. The Behrend Lions first match is on Friday night when they host Mercyhurst at 6:00 p.m. The blue and white then play three matches on Saturday with Gannon A at 1:00 p.m., University Park at 4:00 p.m., and IUP at 7:00 p.m. The remaining schedule includes Mercyhurst vs. Gannon B at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Michigan vs. Gannon B at 5:00 p.m., and University Park vs. Gannon A at 6:00 p.m. in the Junker Center pool.
The women's water
polo team will be the first Behrend team to compete against a
University Park team. The match will be broadcasted live on
Image Sports from the Junker Center Pool. For Adelphia viewers
the game will be on channel 12 and Cablevision viewers can catch the
action on channel 20.
Leading the Behrend Lions is freshman utility player Christine Williams who has four goals and 16 steals in three games and sophomore goalie Lauren Packer who has recorded 23 saves on the season
