Women Win Three Matches at Behrend Water Polo Tournament

The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team stepped up at their first-ever tournament in the Junker Center Pool on March 15-16.  After finishing 0-3 at the Southern Tournament at Slippery Rock on March 9, the Behrend Lions played well and finished 3-1 in the Behrend Tournament.

Defeating Mercyhurst (13-5), University Park (7-6), and IUP (14-4), the Behrend Lion's only loss was to Gannon (3-12).  Notably, the women's water polo team was the first Behrend team to compete against a University Park team.  Leading the Behrend Lions was freshman utility player Christine Williams (Pottsville/Pottsville) and sophomore driver Tara Braden (Fairview/Fairview).  Williams had 16 goals and 19 steals, while Braden added 6 goals and 7 steals.

The Behrend women travel to Indiana University to compete in the Southern Tournament on April 5-6.
