Powerhouse Hoosiers Squad too Much for Behrend Lions

Women's water polo ran into a powerful Indiana team in the Junker Pool on Saturday, March 24.  The division I Hoosiers jumped out to a 8-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.  Outscoring Behrend 5-0 in the second quarter and again 2-0 in the third, the Hoosiers cruised to a 17-1 victory.  The Behrend women fall to 1-7, dropping their sixth straight match.

Bright spots for the Behrend women included Kaitlyn Rinn (Erie/Villa Maria) who tallied Behrend's only goal.  Brooke Zimmerman led the scoring attack for the Hoosiers, grabbing a hat trick after she found the back of the cage three times.  Six other Hoosiers had two goals a piece.

Things won't get much easier for the women tomorrow as they face another division I opponent in the Michigan Wolverines.  The match is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.  After Michigan, the women hit the road for a March 28 match against Mercyhurst and then a set of six matches at the Midwest Invitational on March 30 and 31.
