Men's Water Polo Finish Strong to Close out Weekend Play

Behrend men's water polo team finished the last two games of the four game weekend Sunday, September 30 in the Junker Pool.

In the first game, Behrend played the Salem International Tigers for the second time of the weekend.  The men had no problem with the Tigers, scoring six goals in the first half of play.  The men went on to defeat the tigers 14-6.

In the last game of the day, the blue and white went up against a tough Mercyhurst team.  The men fought a long, hard match but in the end were defeated by the Lakers 14-3.  Goalie Keith Yaegle (Warren/Warren) had a tremendous performance, stopping some unbelievable shots.  Yaegle recorded 18 saves on the day.

The men will enjoy some time off before returning to the pool.  They will travel to neighboring Mercyhurst College on Tuesday, October 9 @ 7:00 p.m.  This will be the last of three matches the men will play before heading to the Division III Championships at M.I.T in Boston, Massachusetts.
