Dara Nielsen Selected AMCC Goalie of the Week (9/19/05)
Behrend’s Dara Nielsen (Glenshaw/Fox Chapel) has been named Allegheny
Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) goalkeeper of the week for the second
consecutive week. Nielson was spectacular in two games for the Behrend
Lions as she went 200 minutes without conceding a single goal.
Against Carnegie Mellon, Nielson recorded 12 saves in a 0-0 double overtime standoff. She has now registered four shutouts in six Behrend games, which has her tied for most shutouts in the conference.
The current record for Behrend women’s soccer is 4-1-1. Next up for the blue and white is a 4:30 p.m. home game on Tuesday, September 22 with visiting Allegheny.
